Job Description

Our client is a fast growth professionals services business based in Central London. They require an experienced credit controller to join their team as soon as possible.

They have recently hired a new Finance Director and are looking to support other areas of the business through better financial systems and infrastructure. This role will suit someone driven and ambitious, with good relationship building skills

THE JOB

 

Day today activities typically involve the following duties:

  • To recover outstanding cash on invoices across all operating companies by using telephone, emails or letter in line with the collections procedure
  • To carry out credit checking when required
  • To ensure that credit facilities are monitored and controlled effectively
  • Allocate cash in accordance with client remittances
  • Processing and generating reminder letters and client statements
  • Liaising with the sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve outstanding queries
  • Daily and month end reporting and account reconciliations
  • Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices
  • Working to strict monthly and annually collections targets including but not restricted to DSO
  • To ensure aged debt and disapproved debt is kept to a minimum by prioritising aged balances for collection and ensuring all queries are promptly resolved
  • Highlight any accounts where there is cause for concern in terms of queries or extended DSO to the Credit Manager
  • Highlight any operational issues to the Credit Manager
  • Assisting the Credit Manager with any ad hoc projects

 

The Person

  • At least 2 years' experience in a credit control/collections role
  • Ideally experience within a similar agency environment
  • A firm but fair attitude towards collection and maintaining client relationships
  • Able to build strong relationships
  • Experience of designing new processes
  • Flexible attitude
