This role will be assisting the Director of Operations, across all the finance functions within the group. If exposure is what you are looking for? Then look no further and read on!

The ideal Trainee Accountant will be doing;

  • Assisting with the preparation of month-end & management accounts, both for the group and individual companies
  • Completing bank reconciliations and statements for multiple entities within the group, then producing a Dashboard each month, showing the entire financial position of the group
  • Regularly checking and amending online banking for group and companies
  • Credit card expenses and reconciliations
  • Analysing the income & expenses, through the group bank accounts and arranging correct Inter-Account Transfer payments
  • Maintaining the debtor’s ledger
  • Attending to and amending customers queries via phone, email, mail or in person
  • Maintaining various data records, allowing all month end reporting to be processed accurately in accordance to deadlines
  • job holder to prepare Month end reporting, billing allocation for sign off
  • Completing month end processes accurately, produce allocated month end balance sheet reconciliations in timely fashion
  • Investigate any queries across all departments where necessary in order to uphold the correct figures
  • Setting up and posting journals, in order for the ledgers to be correct and up to date
  • Assisting with the preparation of license distributions, for both the membership model and the data-based model
  • Assisting with the review and analysis of the monthly MPR reports, for the group entity
  • Preparation of the annual budgets for the group including monitoring of events budgets and working closely with Events Manager on events budgets
  • Liaising with the membership & outreach Manager for annual subscription renewals and membership fee invoicing
  • Maintaining and managing both the Purchase and Sales ledger
  • Management of the Petty cash and expenses posting/ reporting
  • Attend staff meetings as and when required

Who the ideal Trainee Accountant is;

  • Currently studying a professional qualification
  • Good experience with accounting systems
  • Incredible communication skills
  • Numerate and proficient with Microsoft Office, including intermediate-advanced Excel skills
  • Adaptable in personality, able to think and act fast when needed – able to work across group of entities and differ in role duties
  • Very eager to learn and develop, gaining more and more exposure
