Financial Controller

An opportunity has arisen to join our client at a crucial time within their growth plans. Only a few years old, and already growing at an exceptionally impressive rate, this business will keep any FC more than interested and engaged daily. This will be a very hands-on role, and the successful candidate will be as happy photocopying as they will writing strategic policies.

The role will be extremely varied, but will involve:

  • Producing monthly management accounts, including journal postings
  • Weekly and monthly KPI reporting and analysis on performance
  • Direct management of part-time payroll admin, and ability to recruit another member below very shortly after joining
  • Liaise and business partner with 2 very hands-on owners, advising on performance and latest changes
  • Liaising with outsourced payroll and billing company, and manage 2 invoice discounting facilities
  • Running year end audit, be 1st point of contact for auditors
  • Assist with implementing and improving very lacking processes, and suggest any refinements to any aspect of the back office
  • Help CFO with preparing accounts for eventual transaction in 3-5 years’ time
  • Being number 1 whilst CFO is in numerous corporate finance meetings and out of the office

You will have or be:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified accountant (QBE also considered)
  • Experience in an SME business, performing a varied and hands on role
  • Able to perform in an extremely fast paced, high growth environment and therefore be versatile and adaptable
  • A robust manner – able to deal with demanding stakeholders
  • Experience in a recruitment business would be ideal, but not essential
  • An energetic individual, who can integrate into a very young and buzzing office
