Finance Director, City of London

£90,000 - £120,000, plus bonus and benefits

Our client, an impressive management consultancy firm, based in the City, are searching for an experienced and outstanding Finance Director to drive growth and establish solid controls and processes within the business. Having recently received PE backing, the firm is looking for an ambitious, charismatic finance leader to work with the Board, and key stakeholders in managing the day-to-day finance of the business, as well as providing strategic guidance.

As Finance Director, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Take full control of the accounting function, including keeping a tight control of cash-flow, forecasting, and the bottom line
  • Expand the function and develop a team beneath that constantly produce the highest quality MI, and keep motivated
  • Create relationships and form strong bonds with the CEO, Investors and Board
  • Contribute to strategic goals of the business and challenge key directors within the business, ensuring all decision-making is fully supported with any financial analysis that is required
  • Ensure company financial systems are robust, and support both current activities and future growth
  • Present annual accounts to the Board and Investors, and ensure the budgeting process is carried out accurately and reviewed
  • Manage any capital requirements, debt, taxation, acquisitions or any further corporate finance as required

Having previous SME FD experience, you will also be or have:

  • Fully Qualified ACA (ACCA/CIMA will also be considered)
  • Previous experience growing a business and ideally leading towards an eventual exit
  • Technically strong, and a dynamic individual, who can operate at all levels within finance.
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels
  • Fantastic management and development skills, with the ability to work in and motivate a small accounts team
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
  • Excellent academic background
