Job Description – Finance Assistant

Central London

My client is a rapidly growing and highly acquisitive IT services company. As a finance assistant you will be working in a fast-paced role and have room for added responsibility therefore being able to grow within the role.

Reporting Structure

The role will report to the Group Financial Accountant and will engage with and support colleagues across the group.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and manage systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances.  Including, but not limited to, responsibility of the following areas;
  • Sales ledger / debtor management
    • Daily and monthly monitoring of credit and prepaid accounts
  • Purchase ledger
    • Input and payment of supplier invoices
    • Monitoring of prepaid registry accounts
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations - Intercompany, prepayments and accruals
  • Monthly Payroll submissions and commission calculation
  • Assist in the timely preparation of monthly management accounts, including;
  • Foreign currency group consolidations
  • Complex revenue recognition calculations
  • Reporting to registry operators
  • Development of KPI’s
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reporting, including;
  • Statutory accounts for the group of companies.
  • Corporation tax returns
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Annual report and half yearly interim accounts
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts
  • Provide ad-hoc commercial support to the business
  • Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required; including company secretarial duties




  • Graduate or strong A level results
  • Strong excel and system skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables etc.)
  • An interest in Technology
