Job Description

I am working with a well known and long standing owner managed tech recruitment business embarking on a fast growth period, they are looking for a highly experienced Commercial Manager to sit in between their Finance and Sales team with the business. This a broad and multi-disciplinary position requiring someone to have experience working in either a recruitment or sales focused business.

Administrative and Operational

  • Ensure that all information required for contractor placement is collated and on system (for example, tax compliance solutions).
  • Maintenance of systems to ensure that data is accurate and compliant.
  • Responding to contractor and client email and telephone queries
  • Identify regular touch-points with all placed contractors and ensure contact at defined intervals with those workers on site.
  • Develop a means of communication with the sales consultant of any relevant information gained from these touch points.
  • Ensure that all systems accurately reflect any and all placements for contractors.
  • Produce and maintain a log of all candidate end dates and expiry of guarantee periods.
  • Assess processes and procedures and see where they can be streamlined, developed and improved.


Achieving and negotiating a greater commercial success by delivering the following:

  • Develop relationships with clients, be known as the go-to person for any queries.
  • Improving initial GP margins on new contractor placements, current business upon renewal, extension GP margins on current business upon renewal, number of extensions successfully negotiated, length of contracts and extensions and the contractor experience of working for my client, so they return and recommend

Marketing & PR

  • In association with marketing, create contractor PR initiatives to establish, improve and maintain a contractor identity.
  • Create a marketing strategy centred around creating benefits of perks for the contractor workforce.
  • Establish a "centre for excellence" with contractor and client care and customer service throughout your team.
