Job Description:

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join an energy & construction recruitment group as the CFO and lead them through an exit in the next 3 years. The CFO will help to strategically guide the CEO to eventuate the company’s long-term vision and build the financial and operational parts of the business to take the business through a sizeable corporate transaction.

Overview

The business is a multi-brand recruitment group operating across the energy & engineering sectors.

  • Currently nearly 200 employees with plans to double the ebitda and increase GP by ⅓ within the next 12 months.

  • CEO has understanding of how to do something meaningful at scale, having previously exited recruitment businesses in the USA.

  • Hybrid venture capital recruitment business, having invested in multiple start-ups over the past 5 years.

Growth

  • Since 2019 headcount has grown by 66%, turnover by 61%, GP by 75% and ebitda by 150%.

  • Clear vision to expand further internationally, will open another office in the US within the next 12 months.

  • Will continue to grow the joint venture investment vehicle over the next 24 months.

  • Exit planned by the end of 2024.

The Role

  • Business partnering with an incredibly ambitious CEO to help guide key strategic decision-making

  • Working closely with MDs of each brand to ensure they have the required financial understanding of their business for long term success

  • Lead the finance function, including a very capable and hardworking Financial Controller

  • Own board pack and reporting to Board on all company financial aspects

  • Oversight of company financial planning

  • Ownership of budgeting and forecasting activities short, medium and long term

  • Own and implement overseas treasury management strategy

  • Cashflow and liquidity management

  • Key point of contact for any equity event and corporate finance, corporate preparation for due diligence and audit

  • Lead the Finance team ensuring succession planning, organisational structure and team growth meet the international and growth demands of the group

  • Optimise financial model, including commission and leadership bonus schemes

  • Build robust, scalable, global internal financial systems and processes

  • Evaluate investment opportunities to launch new niche’s, open new markets, and continue our international expansion

  • Identify opportunities to generate increased contribution from existing business unit


The Necessary Experience

  • Contractor-driven recruitment sector experience

  • Exit experience, ideally trade sale

  • US experience
