Introducing: Georgia Organ, Finance Manager at Forward Role recruitment and our Ultimate Unsung Hero for 2022.
The above quote is from Steve Thompson, Founder and CEO of Forward Role, in his nomination for Georgia, submitted during our mid-level finance month of the Unsung Heroes Awards in 2022 he also said,
“It’s almost unbelievable to say that about someone so junior and inexperienced at the time, but she stepped up in a massive way. The biggest compliment I can give to her is that it was always going to be incredibly hard for me to trust someone in finance, following what happened but I trust her implicitly.”
Georgia won in her category: mid-level finance, joining our 10 other category winners for 2022; Amy Williamson our Marketing Hero, Ella Mulaney our Operations Hero, Ali Braid our L&D Hero, David Korthals-Clarke our Legal and Compliance Hero, Sarah Hamill our Transactional Finance Hero, Emma Powell our Executive Assistant Hero, Lauren Pizzey our C-Suite Finance Hero, Catherine Moncrieff our Human Resources Hero, Kate Drury our Talent Acquisition Hero and Ben Craig our Management Hero!
We think it's easy to see why she was crowned our Ultimate Unsung Hero 2022 from Steve’s heartfelt nomination but to add some more colour to the picture. Georgia joined Forward Role as a graduate, with no recruitment experience, in an admin role. It was here that she found finance. Her initial remit was contractor care and assisting the Financial Controller but shortly after Georgia joining the Financial Controller left the business in extremely challenging circumstances.
It was at this time, Georgia, the only remaining Finance person in the business, took a huge step up to fill a hole, supported by a brilliant management team, Steve Thompson and Managing Director, Brian Johnson, as well as an NED FD, Phill Carlin, who she says has been instrumental in her development and to the whole businesses success.

4 years later and Georgia is the bedrock of Forward Role’s support team, running the Finance Function with support of the NED FD.

Georgia was tenacious, dedicated and independently worked to upskill herself.
